Als Flatterecho wird die periodische Folge eines Echos bezeichnet. Es kommt vor allem in sehr hohen Räumen oder Räumen mit gewölbten Decken zustande. Flatterechos sind daher in Räumen zur Schalldarbietung nicht selten. Da sie als extrem störend empfunden werden, ist es unumgänglich einem Flatterecho mit Maßnahmen zur Schallabsorption entgegenzuwirken.
